Works Carried Out For A Private Client In Kingsbridge
Conservation repairs to the ruin of a barn.
The ruin was suffering from a lack of maintenance over the years and was constructed on large foundation stones due to age of the ruin dating back to the 1600s.
As a result of this part of the ruin was leaning to an extent where part of the ruin had to be dismantled.
All quoins and walling stone was separated to be reused for reconstruction later in the project. New footings were excavated and poured to also allow for buttressing to be carried out to the remaining leaning section. The dismantled panel was reconstructed to match in with the existing ruin including application of a new mortar capping.
